CORON BAY

Travelling around the Philippines exceeded all my expectations, especially my time spent at Coron Bay. It’s an unassuming bay at the northern end of Palawan, famous for its WW2 Japanese shipwrecks, all nestled beneath the glistening turquoise water.

I stayed on a small diving island, where each morning was spent diving the incredible wrecks, while evenings involved lounging on a hammock, gazing into the most gorgeous sunsets. The gentle ocean breeze brushing past my salty sea hair. True bliss.

It was easy to think of the Coron Bay ocean breeze when it came to creating a candle scent that would bring me (and hopefully you) complete joy. A refreshing scent to awaken the senses.

Travel tips

As you can probably guess, the main activity in Coron Bay is to go shipwreck diving. You’ll find some of the most spectacularly preserved shipwrecks condensed into one small area. There really is a whole underwater world to explore, each wreck offering a completely different glimpse of history.

If you’re after a genuine tropical island getaway - complete with rugged cliffs, palm huts and monkeys swinging from tree-tops - I recommend staying at Sangat Island Dive Resort. This is the island in particular that inspired me to create the Coron Bay candle.

P.s. I’ve written a detailed post, Shipwreck Diving in Coron Bay on my travel blog if you’d like to find out more about the top dives.

Also while you’re in the Philippines, you’d be mad to not go island hopping in El Nido. It’s the gateway to some of the most beautiful islands in the world, such as Miniloc and Simizu. True paradise on Earth!
