WAHIBA SANDS
In Eastern Oman, you’ll find the breathtakingly beautiful Wahiba Sands. An endless stretch of rippling sand dunes, glowing every shade of orange and copper beneath the gleaming sun.
It’s still a rather unknown part of the world. A place I hope every one of you can one day visit.
I wanted to re-create the deep, warm, and rich scents of the desert through the Wahiba Sands candle. I hope the sweet, earthy scent combination of mandarin and cinnamon will take you there.
Travel tips
Any trip to Oman has to include a few nights stay at a desert camp. Wahiba Sands is only a few hours drive from Muscat, making it an ideal stop after exploring the capital. Spanning an impressive 200 kms, you literally cannot miss it! It makes a very unique trip, especially for those looking to do something a bit different.
You’ll have the opportunity to experience ‘dune bashing’, sand boarding, camel riding, a 4x4 desert safari, or you can simply gaze into the gorgeous sunset from the top of a dune.
For an authentic experience, spend the night in a haima, a traditional wool-tent, ending the evening with a delicious Bedouin-style cooked meal with mint tea.
P.s. For any hiking-lovers out there, I highly recommend exploring at least some sections of the Western Hajar Mountain range while you’re in Oman. There’s a fantastic new book detailing every part of the trip - Wilderness Trekking Oman.
